S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Reborn - Doppelganger

Storyline Walkthrough

This walkthrough is based on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Reborn - Doppelganger version 7.64 (see Download Links) with default setup (at installation) at Suitsidnik level.

NOTE: It is recommended (by several people) to play version 7.63 first. Otherwise, you're going to be very confused from the start, which has an added task. It's my understanding that there are several ways to play this version. This is how I play it.

Additional Tips to 7.63
Belarusain Reserve
NOTE: I had a lot of trouble loading saves with this map. You may try to hit all points without stopping. The only dangers are radiation and anomalies. If you miss a location and want to start from the last one, you may be able to open your PDA and zoom out to find it. Another trick is to start a new game, then load your last save.
TIP: Using the drone can save a lot of wondering around on this map. Saving at each location also helps.

You spawn in the Belarusain Reserve between two trees (east and west of you) with a message, scan tool information: unknown territory. There's no map, weapon, or any idea where you are supposed to go. Turn to the tree on your right (east), then left to the next tree so that you are facing east by northeast. Go on the south side of that tree to find a mound with a fallen tree on top. Enter the cave on the north side. As you enter, there is a thunder-clap and a target appears on your minimap. This is the first of eleven locations you need to find. Retrieve the Flash card unknown from the backpack (second location). You get the following messages display on the screen: Collect data on unknown terrain. On the basis of the data collected will be possible to calculate the teleport further into the Zone. The flash drive reads:

To starve to death. Yet there is no strength left to leave the cave. It is terrifying. Those who went out for dry firewood never returned. And no one came back from the logging site, either.

Next, leave the cave, go around the south side of the mound and continue east to find a camp with two tents and a BTR for the third location. Now go northwest to find an Oakpine Anomaly and go under just enough to get the thunder-clap (as there is an anomaly if you go too far), which is the fourth location. Go to the southwest trunk and climb to the dead bird for the fifth location (but they only show as one mark on your map because they are on top of each other).

Starting from the southwest trunk, face the large tree to the west by northwest and pass by the north side to find a burned out farm (sixth location). Go to the southwest corner to find a safe just outside the fence with some supplies. Then, into the root cellar at the northwest corner to collect some supplies and a pistol. From the cellar, go north and find a log truck (seventh location). Check the box behind the cab for more supplies and the Flash card c cuttings:

Staring at the generator in the burnt-out village, amidst the abandoned equipment in the cave. There is no way out.

Turn southeast from the stash box to the large tree and pass it on the north side to locate a radioactive dome structure (eighth location). On the southeast side at the base is a corpse that you can loot.

Now go directly south, passing on the west of a vehicle graveyard, to find a dead Monolith reaching for a small stash box. Loot the box to find the Smartphone Monolith, which reads:

The mission to deliver the "Psi-Fist" project documents has failed completely! Six fallen brothers lie scattered across the Zone. I must return to my own and report this to the Adept. If I do not make it back, brother—finish the job!

In Version 7.63, this smartphone was part of the Special first-aid kit of the "Monolith" group cache. Now go northeast to the vehicle graveyard (ninth location). Next, start from the north end of the yard and go east to find an area of harmless green mist (tenth location). Finally, north to a tree surrounded by more green mist (eleventh location). On the south side of the tree is a corps reaching for a backpack containing the Flash card of the deceased:

And so, making his way through the bushes toward the "Smoldering Pine-Oak" anomaly, the stalker-adept headed toward our camp by the APC. He never did find the "Nests of Dead Birds."

It may take a minute or two, and you may need to walk away from the tree, but you get the following messages: Go opened in the hollow of a dry tree. Messages saved to your PDA are: A sufficient number of objects found. There is a data processing. and To talk to Zarqa (Zarka). Climb up the north side of the tree and to the small depression (it's not really hollow) to get a prompt to move to the next map. Again, you may need to try a few times before it works.

Zaton

You spawn in northern part of the map. Go southwest to the Skadovsk and find more supplies in the second-level stash box, along with the Flash card Flint that contains a clue to a stash:

Whoa! I’m writing this down right now—"four threads"! Ah, here it is... Hey, boys, listen up. I tracked down this stash thanks to a single cigarette butt left by a "Svoboda" guy. He was a funny character. He set up the drop just like Flint from *Treasure Island*: he laid out a skeleton right between a pine and an oak, with its skull pointing exactly to where the loot was buried. So, you walk eighteen paces—and there’s a crooked tree. Well, he actually told me all that later—right before he gave up the ghost. Alright, fellas, watch this—I’m going to grab the shovel! Whoa! Holy mother of God!

Go to the north side of the Preobrazhensky Bridge. Be aware that the Ranger Station is full of mutants and it's best to stay below the crest of the hill. At the bridge, use the outside ledge on the west side to get around the anomaly. Climb the ladder and continue south to the next ladder and climb back down. Turn north and loot the stash box in the jeep. Now climb back up and cross the bridge to the south side.

Follow the road to the closed gate and get a message that the teleport isn't working (until you talk to Fake). To the left (east) is a working UAZ 469 (Goatling). But first, pull out the Artifact Detector that you got from the bridge stash and start collecting artifacts. There may be some on the other side of the disabled teleport. You can jump the wire fence by going to the top of the hill where the wire fence meets the cement wall, then sprint down the hill and jump.

NOTE: For vehicles, use the letter O key to start the engine, not zero like other mods. Also, there doesn't seem to be any storage, fuel gauge, or condition indicator for any of the vehicles.

Next, go to the Fueling Station where you find a wounded Noah. You cannot talk to him until you clear out the stash in the tank behind the station. Be aware that Noah likes to take on Pseudogiants and his death triggers an emission. The safest shelter is the Underground Cave. The Workshop is full of spiders and you don't have the firepower or time to deal with them yet.

Go to the north side of the Oakpine Anomaly to find the skeleton mentioned one of the flash drives. Start at the feet and walk to the head to set the direction, then continue to just below a tree coming out of the west bank to find another stash. The tree has a broken-off branch near the bottom and a smaller tree to its south. Stand on the downhill side and look to the right of where the trunk enters the ground. You can't carry everything in the stash, so leave what you don't need. Another Important Character that likes to take on Pseudogiants is Fake. If he gets killed, be sure to grab is equipment. Be sure to talk to him (he should be nearby) before he gets himself killed. Otherwise, you may not be about to get much further in the game:

  1. Fake: Coming straight to you—an ancient Greek tragedy: a living soul in the realm of death...
  2. Revived: Hi to you, too! Maybe you could give me a hand with something?
  3. Fake: Well, why shouldn't I lend a hand? After all, you’re right here—at the crossing where you first “bumped through” back when you were in the Scream. And it’s just the same now: you “bump through,” and you come out the other side. But if, by some chance, you “bump through” somewhere else entirely... Well, you get the idea!
  4. Revived: Holy cow!

Head for the Iron Forest. If you can get to it without being spotted, there's an M-60 machine gun in the right wheel of the helicopter. Now go back to the Waste Processing Station and try the teleport again. This time, you should be teleported to Jupiter.

Talk to Zarqa

You spawn on the broken-out bridge in the northeast part of Jupiter. Talking to Zarqa (Zarka) results in being teleported to Bunker Radar where Version 7.63 began. At this point you have two ways to play:

Stash anything you want to keep for later in the game and go to CNPP:

In CNPP, take the road on the right to the eastern side of the complex. Find a large gate to enter the complex and turn right (north), left (west), and follow the road as it bends right (north), then left (west). Follow this road through the complex to the railroad crossing and turn northwest to follow the tracks. This takes you to the Polygon O-consciousness, where you can Help Ket now or later, depending on your firepower. Continue on to Generators (remember to pull the fuses in the lab) > Caultery 2 > Keepers. Here, you meet Zarka, have the same conversation as in Version 7.63, and are teleported to Bunker Radar to meet Awareness.

Meeting Zarka prompts a message:

STALKER: You have just successfully completed the first of a series of compatibility tests with Reborn! Your level of compliance of 30&37;.

You can follow my 7.36 walkthrough from here until you reach Empty Land. Do not use the Abandoned Institute teleport. Complete Zulu's task and then refer to the following Layering reality section after you complete the finding draftsman task.

NOTE: When you spawn in Goblin Region you get a 60&37; completion message. There are four of these messages in all. The 90&37; comes when you complete the Find a path to the swamps and wait for the doctor there. task.
Layering reality

The Abandoned Institute teleport in Empty Land's southeast corner now takes you to Layering reality. It's a small map with a two-story building in the center that resembles the SoC Bus Station. Go inside and to the stairs in either the northeast or southeast corner of the building. On the top floor, find where the roof has caved in and go up the rubble. Take the teleport to Keepers and get the teleport information. Now take either the center or right tunnel and go Military warehouses > Radar.
